 Going out for dinner
(or breakfast)
(or lunch)
is really just recreational eating,
and we pay a lot of money
so as not to cook.
I’m no great chef,
but I enjoy serving food to others.
At home, all food is comfort food,
and I even like serving food to myself.
I still have a hundred cookbooks,
the ‘Net has a gazillion recipes,
Food TV is everywhere,
and magazines have the prettiest pictures of meals,
but all I really need to remember is:
when I cut the vegetables, I cut the vegetables;
when I bake banana bread, I bake banana bread;
when I stir the soup, I stir the soup.
