Father of two fine lads, each a father now. Packed a lot into a too-short life. Radioman, Marine, buddy through and through, A small-town boy, a universal man. Covered a grenade, allowed me to have a life. Remembered every day.
Dan, of all your poems about friends, this one struck me where it hurts. God bless him, and thank you for your service. I am a pacifist, but I support our troops 100%. It hurts to hear that two kids grew up without their dad...
