White

Father of two fine lads,
each a father now.
Packed a lot into
a too-short life.
Radioman, Marine,
buddy through and through,
A small-town boy,
a universal man.
Covered a grenade,
allowed me to have a life.
Remembered every day.

  1. Dan, of all your poems about friends, this one struck me where it hurts. God bless him, and thank you for your service. I am a pacifist, but I support our troops 100%. It hurts to hear that two kids grew up without their dad...
