Most days I wake up
thinking of distant friends, who
stay close in my heart,
or the sounds
of chanting monks,
a certain calming start.
I avoid The News,
it’s not useful
and it triggers me,
breeds only discomfort,
fear, anxiety, and my
old favorite, PTSD.
The news doesn’t
show us reality,
neither human nor divine.
Peace, love and rescue
are my realities, don’t
know about others, but it’s mine.
When I want more,
I give thanks for what I have.
It’s a payable price, quite fair
The The News
is just the planet’s cry
for meditation, more prayer.
