A cento is a poem formed from lines of poems written by other poets. Latin for “patchwork,” the cento is composed like a collage or quilt, and honors others’ poems while presenting a unique work.
Liquid mind
Seeking a connection,
listening for that still, small voice,
searching for an unseen tie line,
like an icy river finding it’s way,
a mighty fortress on the right hillside,
a cloudless sky issuing an invitation,
scanning my deep dream, my hopes,
drifting, drifting, drifting,
liquid mind at play,
waiting for my night sight to come,
still sitting by a fire as I
come across the world to you.
